The city noise barrier, developed by experts from the Department of Railway Structures in cooperation with MONTSTAV CZ, has been repeatedly tested on the tram line in Hloubětín since July 2018. The height of the screen is only 30 centimetres above the top of the rail, making it the lowest noise control measure of its kind in Europe. The screen provides the attenuation of noise from passing tramways in the range of 3 to 5 decibels. It is made of recycled materials and can be quickly disassembled in the event of an accident on the track. The works connected with the implementation were financially supported from the Operational Programme Prague – Growth Pole of the Czech Republic, Project No. CZ.07.1.02/0.0/0.0/16_040/0000377 ”Concepts of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for Prague 2017”.
