Basic information

How to apply

  • Check the deadline for applicants from your sending institution and the eligibility criteria
Each Higher Education Institution (HEI) has its deadline for applications. You should start your preparations by checking all of the deadlines. This is important because there are usually only one or two-time frames when you can submit your application for going on Erasmus+ Mobility studies each year.

  • Choose the institution where you would like to go on exchange
Your University must officially nominate you if you wish to study at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (FCE CTU) as an Erasmus or an exchange student. In the first instance, therefore, you must contact your Erasmus+ coordinator or exchange coordinator:
    • Check the list of institutions you can go to and search for FCE CTU. This information should be available on the website of the respective institution or on your Faculty website. If you cannot find it, consult the International Relations Office or ask the Erasmus Coordinator at your University.
    • Check the programme for the semester at your sending institution – see what your mandatory subjects are and how many free electives you have to take.
    • Check the study programme at FCE CTU if there are comparable learning outcomes – Prospectus
    • Do not miss the application deadlines at FCE CTU. Applications received after the deadline will be rejected.

  • Apply at your sending institution
Each HEI has its own application procedure requirements. Sometimes you may have to submit a CV and motivation letter, in other cases you may have to present yourself in front of a special committee to be chosen. Most countries also require a language test or proof of your language capabilities in the form of a certificate. In all cases, make sure you are well prepared!

  • Prepare the necessary documents
The Erasmus+ programme will allow you to transfer your learning outcomes from the receiving institution to your sending institution, but to complete this process successfully you will need to prepare and submit several documents before, during, and after your exchange.
