The doctoral degree programme cultivates experts who are cable of facing current and emerging challenges in the field of people’s and building safety, identifying and developing progressive solutions with the use of the latest scientific findings and implementation of advanced simulation and experimental research methods.
Safety establishes the quality of life and, at the same time, is an indicator of the overall refinement of a society. The study programme has been conceived to develop thinking and lifelong learning in the field of safety and construction related issues with a focus on modern modelling methods. The core of instruction is a comprehensive overview of studied issues, with an emphasis on the state-of-the-art technology in the field, including broader cultural and environmental contexts, the knowledge of artistic, ecological and political science disciplines relevant to safety practice. The research itself focuses on the specific safety area of rapidly developing practices of sustainable construction, the use of renewable resources and energy and modern industries with a high level of automation and conservation of cultural, historical and architectural heritage.
