The inauguration of the 3D printed house took place on Střelecký Island on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.
At the beginning of May 2020, we tested the stability of the structure of “Prvok” – a unique residential house built by the 3D concrete printing method – at our Faculty. To this end, part of the Prvok/Protozoan structure was erected directly on the premises of the Experimental Centre of the Faculty of Civil Engineering CTU in Prague where it successfully passed an extreme load test supervised by doc. Ing. Jiří Litoš, Ph.D.
We verified that the structure could withstand the required load of 5 kN/m2. Actually, it withstood even ten times that load without obvious damage.
Responsible: prof. Ing. Karel Kabele, CSc.
